Regression Models for Time Series Analysis by Benjamin Kedem,

Regression Models for Time Series Analysis by Benjamin Kedem,
A thorough review of the most current regression methods in time series analysis Regression methods have been an integral part of time series analysis for over a century. Recently, new developments have made major strides in such areas as non-continuous data where a linear model is not appropriate. This book introduces the reader to newer developments data modeling scientific stochastic and more diverse regression models data modeling scientific stochastic and methods for time series analysis. Accessible to anyone who is familiar with the basic modern concepts of statistical inference, Regression Models for Time Series Analysis provides a much-needed examination of recent statistical developments. Primary among them is the important class of models known as generalized linear models (GLM) which provides, under some conditions, a unified regression theory suitable for continuous, categorical, data modeling scientific stochastic and count data. The authors extend GLM methodology systematically to time series where the primary data modeling scientific stochastic and covariate data are both random data modeling scientific stochastic and stochastically dependent. They introduce readers to various regression models developed during the last thirty years or so data modeling scientific stochastic and summarize classical data modeling scientific stochastic and more recent results concerning state space models. To conclude, they present a Bayesian approach to prediction data modeling scientific stochastic and interpolation in spatial data adapted to time series that may be short and/or observed irregularly. Real data applications data modeling scientific stochastic and further results are presented throughout by means of chapter problems data modeling scientific stochastic and complements.

Bayesian Statistical Modelling by Peter Congdon,

Bayesian Statistical Modelling by Peter Congdon,
Bayesian methods draw upon previous research findings data modeling scientific stochastic and combine them with sample data to analyse problems data modeling scientific stochastic and modify existing hypotheses. The calculations are often extremely complex, with many only now possible due to recent advances in computing technology. Bayesian methods have as a result gained wider acceptance, data modeling scientific stochastic and are applied in many scientific disciplines, including applied statistics, public health research, medical science, the social sciences data modeling scientific stochastic and economics. "Bayesian Statistical Modelling" presents an accessible overview of modelling applications from a Bayesian perspective. Provides an integrated presentation of theory, examples data modeling scientific stochastic and computer algorithms Examines model fitting in practice using Bayesian principles Features a comprehensive range of methodologies data modeling scientific stochastic and modelling techniques Covers recent innovations in bayesian modelling, including Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods Includes extensive applications to health data modeling scientific stochastic and social sciences Features a comprehensive collection of nearly 200 worked examples Data examples data modeling scientific stochastic and computer code in WinBUGS are available via ftp Whilst providing a general overview of Bayesian modelling, the author places emphasis on the principles of prior selection, model identification data modeling scientific stochastic and interpretation of findings, in a range of modelling innovations, focussing on their implementation with real data, with advice as to appropriate computing choices data modeling scientific stochastic and strategies. Researchers in applied statistics, medical science, public health data modeling scientific stochastic and the social sciences will benefit greatly from the examples data modeling scientific stochastic and applications featured. The book will also appeal to graduate students of applied statistics, data analysis data modeling scientific stochastic and Bayesian methods, data modeling scientific stochastic and will provide agood reference source for both researchers data modeling scientific stochastic and students.

Environmental Modeling Center - The Environmental Modeling Center (EMC), improves numerical weather, marine and climate predictions at the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), through a broad program of research in data assimilation and modeling. In support of the NCEP operational forecasting mission, the EMC develops, improves and monitors data assimilation systems and models of the atmosphere, ocean and coupled system, using advanced methods developed internally as well as cooperatively with scientists from Universities, NOAA Laboratories and other government agencies, and the international scientific community.

Data modeling - In information system design, data modeling is the analysis and design of the information in the system, concentrating on the logical entities and the logical dependencies among these entities. Data modeling is an abstraction activity in that the details of the values of individual data observations are ignored in favor of the structure, relationships, names and formats of the data of interest, although a list of valid values is frequently recorded.

Scientific Data Systems - Scientific Data Systems, or SDS, was a computer company founded in September 1961 by Max Palevsky, a veteran of Packard Bell and Bendix, along with eleven other computer scientists. SDS was an early adopter of integrated circuits in computer design and the first to employ silicon transistors.

Extensible Data Format - The Extensible Data Format (XDF) is an XML standard (consisting of a DTD and inheriting XML) developed by NASA, meant to be used throughout the scientific disciplines. In many ways it is akin to XSIL, Extensible Scientific Interchange Language.
